Application Process

How to Apply

Thank you for your interest in a career with the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency! All job openings and applications are handled directly through USAJOBS.gov.  If you wish to apply for multiple job openings, please apply to each announcement you’re interested in.

Openings change frequently so we encourage you to set up notifications for future job announcements. You can search and get notified for DCSA jobs by setting up a saved search. For example, if you search for a job using a keyword i.e.  “Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency” or “DCSA”, location or filters and get no search results, you can still save your search. When you save a search, and agree to receive email notifications, USAJOBS will send an email if a new job is posted that matches what you’re looking for.

We also invite you to follow us to stay connected on the latest job opportunities on LinkedIn.

DCSA Hiring Process

Eligibility

Education and skill requirements vary by opportunity and can be reviewed in the individual announcements on USAJOBS. All applicants must meet the following conditions of employment:

  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Selective Service Requirement: Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service. For more information go to http://www.sss.gov.

What to Expect

Once an announcement has closed, a hiring manager is given a list of qualified and eligible candidates.  From there, interviews are conducted and the hiring manager selects the most qualified individual(s) and a conditional job offer is sent to the applicant(s).  Applicants will then be required to meet the additional pre-employment conditions:

Drug Free Workplace Program

All DCSA positions are considered testing designated positions and require a pre-employment drug test.  Positive tests or refusal to test may affect eligibility for employment.  In addition, once hired, all DCSA employees are subject to random drug testing.

Security Clearance

Positions at DCSA require access to classified national security information and employees in these positions must obtain the appropriate security clearance.  Clearance levels range between Secret and Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information.  The clearance level required is determined by the position and may affect the time it takes to be hired.
