DCSA Hiring Process
Eligibility
Education and skill requirements vary by opportunity and can be reviewed in the individual announcements on USAJOBS. All applicants must meet the following conditions of employment:
- Must be a US Citizen
- Selective Service Requirement: Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service. For more information go to http://www.sss.gov.
What to Expect
Once an announcement has closed, a hiring manager is given a list of qualified and eligible candidates. From there, interviews are conducted and the hiring manager selects the most qualified individual(s) and a conditional job offer is sent to the applicant(s). Applicants will then be required to meet the additional pre-employment conditions:
Drug Free Workplace Program
All DCSA positions are considered testing designated positions and require a pre-employment drug test. Positive tests or refusal to test may affect eligibility for employment. In addition, once hired, all DCSA employees are subject to random drug testing.
Security Clearance
Positions at DCSA require access to classified national security information and employees in these positions must obtain the appropriate security clearance. Clearance levels range between Secret and Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information. The clearance level required is determined by the position and may affect the time it takes to be hired.
