The Federal Register published the final rule titled "National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM)" (32 CFR part 117) on December 21, 2020.  The NISPOM establishes requirements for the protection of classified information disclosed to or developed by contractors, licensees, grantees, or certificate holders to prevent unauthorized disclosure. 32 CFR part 117 (NISPOM Rule) will become effective February 24, 2021, and authorizes the contractor no more than 6 months to comply with changes from the effective date of the rule.  To assist in implementing the NISPOM Rule and help those not familiar with the rule's structural format, DCSA is pleased to announce the release of the "32 CFR Part 117 NISPOM Rule Cross Reference Tool."  This tool maps the current DoD 5220.22-M NISPOM format to the appropriate location within the NISPOM Rule. When used as a desktop reference, the tool will assist in cross referencing, searching, and facilitating the navigation of the 32CFR part 117, NISPOM Rule. The tool can be found on the Center for Development of Security Excellence website:
