In order to improve the customer experience when initiating investigation requests in the Defense Information System for Security (DISS) and to provide the opportunity for DCSA to reduce call volume, please review the information below prior to contacting the Applicant Knowledge Center (AKC) and DISS Contact Center. For non-Industry customers, please contact your agency representative for assistance.
e-QIP Registration Codes sent via DISS notifications:
After the investigation request is initiated in DISS, the e-QIP registration code is sent to the facility security officer (FSO) in DISS notifications. Notifications are located on the upper left hand corner of the screen, under Communications.
Subject email address in DISS:
The subject’s email address is not a required field in DISS to initiate the investigation request. The only required email address is for the FSO when initiating the request.
However, it is recommended that the Subject’s email address is entered in DISS because if a reset in the e-QIP system is required, the new registration can be emailed to the subject, reducing total time on the phone for the customer and allowing the AKC to assist additional customers.
e-QIP System Username and Security Questions:
The e-QIP system has enhanced security features to protect Personally Identifiable Information (PII). If a user cannot recall username, password or their Security Questions, please contact the AKC at 724-738-5090. DCSA is working to improve the system functionality to reduce the need to contact the AKC to provide this information.
