DCS guide and extracted tips below to test connection:  https://conference.apps.mil/webconf/s7o6fb316dbg32ekn4birecjszvszzxa

  • Before using DCS, computer and network configuration MUST be done by your local IT administrator. When DCS runs on your computer, it does not have the ability to modify local computer or network permission settings to allow it to run properly. Your local IT group is responsible for ensuring DCS will operate properly on your government computer or in your group’s network environment. See https://cyber.mil/dcsfor details.
  • Test DCS each time your computer receives software updates and/or group policy changes.
  • All voice/video communication systems require high-speed, low-latency networks. ALL sessions are subject to quality problems due to network congestion, low bandwidth and unpredictable network latency. This applies to ALL DoD networks, VPN access points, home networks and Internet Service Providers. This is not specific to DCS.
  • Meetings with more than 50 people must minimize the number of users with microphone and phone connections. Most users should join as Listen Only and use the built-in chat facility to communicate.
  • Screen-sharing and web-camera features should be used only with small audiences. Successful use of these features is environment specific and depends on ever-changing network conditions. Use these features during off-peak hours. (Peak utilization period is Tuesday 0900 –1400 Eastern Time-zone)
  • DCS Does not support redistribution or playback of video files or streaming data such as AVI, MOV, MP4 or YouTube etc.
