DISS Investigation Request Update

At this time, Industry investigation requests can be initiated in the Defense Information System for Security (DISS); however, the e-QIP registration code will not be provided due to an issue between the DISS and e-QIP systems. DCSA is actively working to resolve the issue. The systems are expected to be fixed by Wednesday, April 21. Additional guidance will be provided once it becomes available. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Filling in the 'Prime Contract Number' field when submitting personnel
May 18, 2021 - As a reminder, DCSA may reject investigation submissions that don't include the prime contract number, as shown on the associated industry guidance. The prime contract number is a required field for industry submissions of personnel security clearance investigations. Please contact the Knowledge Center for questions.

NBIS DEVELOPMENT CONTINUES WITH CAPABILITY RELEASE 2.6
May 3, 2021 - DCSA has successfully deployed Release 2.6 of the National Background Investigation Services (NBIS). A follow up to Release 2.5, this deployment adds access management, visit management, and polygraph features required for federal government personnel security management. The features are part of an ongoing NBIS release rollout, ensuring that all functionalities receive adequate user acceptance testing in a phased approach. DISS RELEASE 13.4.2
April 29, 2021 - DCSA will deploy the Defense Information System for Security (DISS) Release 13.4.2, which delivers enhancements to existing system capabilities. The National Industrial Security Program (NISP) Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS) celebrates Its 2nd Anniversary
April 13, 2021 - The National Industrial Security Program (NISP) Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS), the official database of record for government and cleared industry members engaged in the Risk Management Framework (RMF) Assessment & Authorization (A&A) process has reached a significant milestone with their 2nd Anniversary on May 6, 2021. This anniversary announcement comes as NISP eMASS reports a record landmark with 1,502 eMASS Containers; 3, 700 users; and 6,292 systems. These numbers continue to grow every single day. NISP eMASS is the second largest instance within the Department of Defense as the Navy holds the record having been in use over 8 years. NISP eMASS maintains its positive impact based on relationships built by the Information Systems Security Professionals and Team Leads that work on a daily basis with both government and cleared industry users.
