Field Operations

    About Field Operations

DCSA established the Field Operations (FO) Directorate to facilitate cross - mission execution, integration, and support. The formation of this directorate serves to move the agency to full performance and integration in each mission, anticipate and prepare DCSA for the future by equipping the agency to confront an evolving threat landscape in 2040, and raise the level of understanding and recognition of DCSA as the premier provider of integrated security services for the Federal government with external stakeholders. Key to this structure is the integration of the Background Investigations (BI), Industrial Security (IS), Cyber Security (CS), and Counterintelligence and Insider Threat (CI) missions at the regional level. This integration optimizes mission performance, increases and encourages information sharing and collaboration across mission areas, making way for a workforce that can identify and mitigate threats to our national security more than ever before.

The FO represents the culmination of consolidation into four DCSA regions, led by an Assistant Director. Each of the regions includes a designated headquarters, senior executive leadership, and regional mission directors for each mission. The FO structure ensures unity of command for the field workforce, promoting efficiency, consistency, communication and greater integration throughout the geographically dispersed workforce.
