NISP eMASS Industry Operation Guide Version 1.0 released

The NISP Authorization Office (NAO) released the NISP Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS) Industry Operation Guide Version 1.0. The operation guide is designed to assist Industry users navigate eMASS. The operation guide is posted on the NISP eMASS Information and Resource Center Resources. Knowledge Center, Personnel Security Inquiries early closure
Jan. 16, 2020 - The Knowledge Center, Personnel Security Inquiries will close at 3 p.m. on Friday, January 17, 2020, and will not reopen until Tuesday, January 21, 2020. Normal business hours from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. will resume on Tuesday, January 21, 2020.

NISP eMASS Industry Operation Guide, Version 1.1, released

The NISP Authorization Office (NAO) released the National Industrial Security Program (NISP) Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS) Industry Operation Guide Version 1.1. The operation guide has been revised to better assist users in navigating eMASS. The operation guide is posted here: https://www.dcsa.mil/mc/ctp/tools/ (eMASS Tab). NISP eMASS URL update
Nov. 20, 2019 - After the latest Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Authorized Service Interruption (ASI) - migration to milCloud, the Uniform Resource Locator (URL) for the NISP eMASS instance has changed. The NISP eMASS is now accessible at: https://nisp.emass.apps.mil. The previous URL is no longer valid. If users are experiencing application issues, please contact the DISA eMASS Help Desk via email: disa.global.servicedesk.mbx.ma-ticket-request@mail.mil; or by calling (844)-347-2457, options 1, 3.

NISP Classified Configuration available within eMASS
Aug. 9, 2019 - The NISP Authorization Office has made the NISP Classified Configuration tool (NISP CC) available to download via the NISP eMASS instance. The NISP CC is intended to assist industry in initial and maintenance configuration of NISP authorized information systems. Detailed instructions regarding accessing, downloading, and applying the NISP CC can be found in the NISP CC in eMASS Job Aid, located here

Background Investigation Mission Moving
July 29, 2019 - The U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) and the Department of Defense (DoD) will realign the National Background Investigations Bureau (NBIB) with the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) on September 29, 2019. Section 951 of the National Defense Authorization Act of FY18 and Executive Order 13869 provide direction for realigning NBIB personnel, resources, and functions to DoD. This morning, the OPM notified NBIB employees that their positions will be transferred to the DCSA on September 29, 2019. DCSA also notified NBIB employees that their positions will be reestablished under the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System. More about this action can be found here.
