Beginning August 1, 2019, the Vetting Risk Operations Center will ONLY accept NDAs/SF-312s and CSRs (formally known as RRUs in JPAS) through the Defense Information System for Security (DISS). It is imperative that you obtain a DISS account prior to August 1, 2019


Submission of CSR reconsiderations to DoD CAF (applies only to military and civilian personnel)
July 14, 2020 - Reconsideration requests submitted to the DoD Consolidated Adjudications Facility (CAF) are sent via the Defense Information Security System (DISS) using a Customer Service Request (CSR). Only current security eligibility determinations that reflect “Denied” or “Revoked” are eligible for reconsideration. Eligibility determinations indicating “No Determination Made,” “Loss of Jurisdiction,” or “Withdrawn” are recertification requests. Click the title for more information..

Additional COVID-19 NISP Authorization Guidance
July 2, 2020 - Region Action Officers will continue to perform assess and authorize activities and manage workload appropriately. System registrations in the Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS) that have submitted completed packages (Control Approval Chain (CAC) workflow) with an Authorization Termination Date (ATD) prior to September 30, 2020, will be assessed and considered for extensions up to 180 days. Either the Assess and Authorize or Extension workflow in eMASS will be utilized as appropriate. For new system registrations in eMASS, the Security Control Assessment (SCA) activity will continue to occur. The onsite portion of the SCA activity may be delayed, deferred, or rescheduled. Documenting evidence of security and validation requirements remains unchanged; only the execution of onsite activity will change temporarily.

2020 Cogswell industrial security award program
June 22, 2020 - As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and the cancellation of the 56th annual NCMS Annual Seminar in June, the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) will announce the 2020 James S. Cogswell Outstanding Industrial Security Achievement Award winners on July 30, 2020, in lieu of conducting a ceremony. The information on the 2020 awardees will be posted to the DCSA website and its social media sites. Additionally, DCSA will publish the award winners in the August Voice of Industry (VOI) newsletter. After the announcement is made, the awards will be mailed directly to the recipients, and a DCSA representative will present the awards to the leadership of each winning facility at a mutually convenient time, either in person (when travel is deemed safe), or virtually. DCSA looks forward to announcing the well deserving winners of the Cogswell award for 2020.
