DISS customer support transitions in August

Beginning Monday, Aug. 2, 2021, helpdesk support for the Defense Information System for Security (DISS), Defense Central Index for Investigations (DCII) and Secure Web Fingerprint Transmission (SWFT) will be provided by the DCSA Customer Engagements Team at 724-794-7765 or dcsa.ncr.nbis.mbx.contact-center@mail.mil. Until that time, customers should continue to contact the DISS help desk at 800-467-5526 or dcsa.ncr.nbis.mbx.contact-center@mail.mil for any issues they encounter.


(12/8/20) Attention SWFT+ (WebEnroll) Users: SWFT+ (WebEnroll) users may experience an issue viewing eFPs in the Transaction Manager screen. eFPs are being processed through to SWFT, although they are not being displayed. The issue is being investigated.


(12/4/20) NBIS-SWFT Monthly Maintenance was successfully completed 12/3/2020 at approximately 11 PM ET. Application functionality has been verified.


(12/2/2020)The Secure Web Fingerprint Transmission system will be unavailable Thursday, December 3 from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. ET, due to maintenance. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.


 

(07/16/2020)   PIV AuthenticationNotice: Starting 1 August 2020, you must use the ‘Authentication’ certificate on your Smart Card (CAC, PIV, PIV-I) to log into SWFT. After 31 July 2020, the email certificate will not allow access to SWFT. ACTION: Re-register your ‘Authentication’ certificate on your Smart Card in SWFT by 31 July 2020. For detailed instructions on re-registering your SmartCard, see section 7.2 “Change Password When Re-registering Smart Card” in the SWFT User Guide, under the Help link in SWFT. You will be able to re-register your smart card without the help of your Site orOrganization Administrator up to 31 July 2020. After this date, contact yourSite or Organization Administrator for them to reset your password in SWFT.

(03/02/2020) Attention INDUSTRY Users of SWFT: Courtesy processing of stalled fingerprints from Industry has ended effectiveMarch 2, 2020. All fingerprints with the old IPAC or incorrect ALC Code willnow remain permanently stalled in SWFT until replaced with corrected fingerprint file. Refer to the SWFT User Guide how to check the status of your fingerprint transactions, and to the updated Scanner Configuration and Registration Guide how to correctly configure your fingerprint workstation. Both guides are available in the SWFT Help section after logging into SWFT.


 

(01/01/2020)  Regular Periodic Maintenance Outage: SWFT system is unavailable every Friday from 6 PM ET to Saturday 3 AM ET due to maintenance. Other system outages may be scheduledand announced as needed.


 

(10/30/2019) Users Receiving Warning when Accessing SWFT Website: Users may receive an error of "SITE NOT SECURE" or "SITES TLSSETTINGS ARE OUT OF DATE" when trying to access JPAS, DCII, DISS orSWFT. In order to fix the issue please visit https://public.cyber.mil/pki-pke/pkipke-document-library/ and then navigate to page 5 and run the "INSTALLROOT 5.5 NIPR 64-BIT WINDOWS INSTALLER." If blocked by your system administrator, please get incontact with your local IT support team for assistance.


 

(05/01/2019) Regular Informational Webinars Every Third Thursday of the Month: DMDC provides regular monthly webinars for SWFT users and administrators. Webinars occur every 3rd Thursday of the month at 1:00 PM ET (10:00 AM PT). Log into the SWFT or contact the DMDC SWFT Coordinator to obtain connection info.

SWFT is a web-enabled system for the collection and transmission of electronic fingerprints for applicants requiring a background investigation for a personnel security clearance. SWFTeliminates the paper-based capture and handling of fingerprints, expedites the background check process by reducing invalid fingerprint submissions,provides end-to-end accountability for sensitive PII data, and implements stringent security standards for all electronic transactions.

SWFT Plus Enrollment (SWFT+) is aweb-based application for collection of biographic and biometric data by means of users’ own fingerprint capture workstations. SWFT+ integrates the data into standard electronic biometric files and forwards them to SWFT, whichthen transmits the files to authorized destinations. SWFT+ is not available to Industry at this time.
