e-App
e-App is the portion of the new National Background Investigation Services (NBIS) system that contains the investigative Standard Forms (SF) that federal applicants and employees use to provide the necessary information to process their personnel background investigations. Applicants and employees can only sign into e-App when directed to do so by an agency that needs to process their personnel security actions, initiate an investigation, or enroll individuals in the continuous evaluation program.
As e-App is implemented beginning in 2019, it will replace the functionality currently provided by the Electronic Questionnaires for Investigations Processing (e-QIP). DCSA customer agencies will be contacted on an individual basis when it is time for the agency to transition from e-QIP to e-App. Although DCSA will reach out to customer agencies, if a customer agency has a question about their specific timeline for implementing e-App, they should call their DCSA Agency Liaison at 724-794-5612.
